Job Description

As the Finance manager, your role involves overseeing monthly financial processes, managing a finance team, and ensuring accurate reporting, including stock management, provisions, cost recovery, and P&L reviews. You will also contribute to working capitalmanagement, assist in budgeting and forecasting, and participate in process improvements and potential system projects.Client Detailsclient is a dynamic and innovative manufacturing company, closely affiliated with a prominent nationwide retail brand, boasting a combined annual turnover of £120 million. This forward-thinking organisation is seeking a Finance Manager to play a vital rolein maintaining financial integrity, optimising processes, and driving strategic financial decision-making within the company.   1. Financial Reporting: Oversee and manage monthly accounting tasks, including stock management, provisions, cost recovery, and P&L reviews, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
  2. Working Capital Management: Collaborate with the Finance Controller to effectively manage working capital, aiding in accurate forecasting and achieving free cash flow targets.
  3. VAT Duties: Prepare VAT returns and handle ad-hoc VAT-related responsibilities to ensure compliance with tax regulations.
  4. Brand Reporting: Develop and maintain brand reporting, including analysing Gross Margin and Stock data, and serve as the primary point of contact for related inquiries.
  5. Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the annual budgeting and forecasting process to support the companys financial planning and decision-making.
  6. Process Improvement: Identify and implement opportunities for process and control improvements within the finance department to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  7. Balance Sheet Reconciliations: Ensure the completion of Balance Sheet reconciliations with a full audit trail for comprehensive financial record-keeping.
  8. External Audits: Provide support for external audits, ensuring compliance and accurate financial reporting during the audit process.
  9. Management Accounts: Contribute to the creation of accurate management accounts, which are critical for strategic decision-making and financial planning.
  10. Ad Hoc Support: Offer assistance as needed for various financial and accounting tasks that may arise.
  11. System Projects: Actively participate in potential system rollouts and other significant projects as required, particularly in terms of system development and improvements.
Profile
  1. Professional Qualification: ACA, ACCA, CIMA qualification or an equivalent recognised accounting certification is essential.
  2. Experience: 3-5+ years of post-qualification experience in a similar role, preferably in a manufacturing or FMCG environment.
  3. Leadership Skills: Desirable experience in team management, indicating the ability to lead and collaborate effectively.
  4. IT Proficiency: Advanced IT skills, especially in Excel, to handle complex financial data and analysis.
  5. System Familiarity: Knowledge or experience with accounting systems like Microsoft Navision, Dynamics 365, or Business Central is advantageous, along with a willingness to engage in future system projects.
  6. Analytical Skills: Strong analytical abilities for financial reporting, including trend analysis, budgeting, and forecasting.
  7. Process Improvement: A proactive mindset to identify and implement process and control improvements, enhancing efficiency and accuracy.
  8. Audit Support: Willingness and ability to support external audits, ensuring compliance with auditing standards and financial regulations.
