Job Description

As an European Assistant Accountant you will be given the opportunity to own the PnL and the reporting to create, learn and innovate best practices for the site.Client DetailsThe client is based in Caerphilly and is easily accessible by car and public transport. The client provides innovative solutions across the UK.DescriptionAs the European Assistant Accountant you would be involved in:

  • Processing and review of standard and non-standard journals
  • Prepare and review of accruals and prepayments
  • Prepare of site VAT return, ECSL and Intrastats reporting
  • Ensure all transactions are recorded accurately and on a timely basis
  • Reconciling all balance sheet accounts and reviewing designated balance sheet accounts allocated to assistants.
  • Analyse and resolve any un-reconcilable items on a timely basis
  • Monthly review of balance sheet reconciliations with key stakeholders at site
  • Provide appropriate and timely financial reports covering various metrics as required by site management, including monthly management accounts and variance analysis
  • Support Business reporting requirements
  • Provide routine and ad-hoc analysis as requested by site operations,
ProfileThe successful candidate will have the following attributes:
  • Experience of management and financial accounting and reporting
  • Experience of working in a busy environment, providing accounting/reporting services to tight deadlines
  • Worked independently to prepare monthly reports and analysis
  • Competent using ERP systems such as Oracle/SAP
