Job Description

Our established and growing client based in Caerphilly are looking to recruit a Design Estimator to join their exceptional team.This role involves interpreting customer requirements for projects whilst providing technical product guidance and provide specific project solutions. Overseeing projects and work with colleagues to ensure the smooth timely delivery of projects.The Role:

  • Ensure Project quotations and technical submissions are on time, specification accurate and commercially sound to maximise conversion to order ratios.
  • Develop and maintain improved communication within the wider Operations Team, and the NPD team.
  • Manage and process enquiries received into the Projects mail inbox, prioritising order related tasks.
  • Manage, update, and take ownership of project folders, ensuring project history and communications are captured.
  • Ensure that all key information at enquiry stage is obtained to offer the best suitable solution to the client.
  • Confidently discuss information of a technical nature with customers to ensure a comprehensive and suitable design is provided.
  • Ensure that designs produced are compliant with current legislation/regulations and industry best practice.
  • Support customers and colleagues in the timely resolution of technical enquiries, escalating queries that cannot be resolved through day to day means.
  • Provide technical support to the external sales teams and facilitate project progression by attending project meetings on site or via Teams
The Person:
  • Well organised and the ability to self-manager and prioritise workloads
  • Be resilient with a desire to continuously produce high quality work
  • Be receptive to develop and implement new processes and ideas
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to deliver successful outcomes
Requirements:
    • Good commercial awareness and a strong understanding of engineering, contractual principles, and methods of working.
    • A mechanical/ electrical/ building services engineering qualification e.g., HNC or equivalent.
    • A strong technical mechanical or electrical background.
    • Good analytical and problem-solving skills, with an excellent attention to detail.
    • A good level of numeracy skills.
