Job Description

Two Long Term Roles - Learning Support Assistant, CaerphillySeptember 2022 startAcademics are currently recruiting for two Learning Support Assistants (LSAs) to work at a Caerphilly County Borough primary school, starting from September 2022. The role will initially be until October half term, but is likely to be extended, performancedepending.The ideal candidates are those who have a genuine passion in working with and helping pupils, who are comfortable in delivering feedback (both good and bad) to pupils and are capable of using their initiative. Whilst experience isnt essential, it wouldbe desirable.Above all, you must be reliable and committed to working five days a week.The Responsibilities of an LSA Include

  • Providing support for pupils either in the classroom or on a 1:1 basis
  • Working as part of an already successful team to ensure that the learning and social objectives of the learners are met
  • Providing both praise and reinforcements
  • Promote and support the inclusion of all pupils
  • Use behaviour management strategies, in line with the schools policy and procedures, to contribute to a purposeful learning environment and encourage pupils to interact and work co-operatively with each other.
The essentials
  • Graduate Degree (desirable)
  • An enhanced DBS check (essential) which is subscribed to the DBS Update Service (desirable)
  • Registration with the Education Workforce Council (EWC) (essential)
  • Two recent references
  • A good standard of Literacy, Numeracy and Communication skills
