As an OS Surveyor, you’ll plan, collect, assess, edit and maintain geospatial information using relevant survey methods to meet customer requirements.Our benefits package rewards a job well done. In return as our Surveyor, we’ll give you:- Salary range up to £28k, based on qualifications and experience (plus London Allowance for London-based role)- A great pension scheme- 37 hour working week- 25 days annual leave (30 days after five years), bank holidays and an extra 3 days over Christmas- Business User Car scheme- Training and development opportunities to keep your skills up to date- A volunteer day each year, to help give back to the community- Benefits including discounts on retail, leisure, sport, health and technology- Support for your health and wellbeing from eye care vouchers to health checks- Flexible working styles, including the hours you workRoles available:We’re looking for Surveyors across GB with the potential to work nationwide or overseas; with a keen interest in people based in the following specific locations that could improve our geographic spread of surveyors:Oxford, Pembrokeshire / Carmarthen, Birmingham, Plymouth, Newark / South Lincs, Stoke, Pontefract / Castleford, Skegness, Middlesbrough, Bury / M66, Oban, Central South London, Nottinghamshire / Mansfield, Maidenhead / Slough and North East Suffolk.What we are looking for in our ideal Surveyor:Ideally having experience in the geospatial information industry, you’ll be a surveyor, or a keen learner. You may have a degree/similar qualification, or equivalent surveying experience, or have a passion to be part of this industry.You’ll be comfortable working independently, resilient, outdoors, a good collaborator and team player as part of a dispersed nationwide geographical team.Essential skills and experience:- Relevant geospatial information industry qualification or work experience e.g. geomatics/land surveying/geographic information systems (GIS)- Experience of data capture and edit platforms for measured survey/data collection e.g. total stations, GPS/GNSS, Ruggedised Tablets/PCs- Experience working outdoors in all weathers and conditions- Spatial awareness- IT skills, especially using geographic information systems (GIS)- Learner and a desire to continuously improve- Communication and problem-solving skills- Organisational skills, good at working independently- Team player, particularly as part of a dispersed team- Able to travel, with some overnight stays in Great Britain, and potentially overseas- Full driving licenseDesirable skills and experience:- Experience in boundary surveying, land admin solutions, both cadastre and general boundaries- Experience in delivering to defined requirements/specifications- Membership of a relevant professional bodyImportant information to consider before you apply for the Surveyor position:- We need a good geographic spread of Surveyors, to help deliver and be efficient, therefore we need people to live in a specified location, or be willing to relocate to an agreed area on completion of initial training, but also need people to be flexible and willing to travel from their base for the role, this can be GB wide- Surveyors will need to work from home, with a suitable workspace- Spatial awareness is essential, and we’ll test this at interview- Successful candidates must be available for a 10-week period of continuous training at our Head Office, Southampton, or in training blocks throughout the year at regionally based locations if appropriate.
