Job Description

Paragon Meed are proud to be working with a well-established manufacturer based in Bury who are looking for a Production Shift Supervisor t to join their well-established team. This is fantastic opportunity to join an award-winning organisation.Reporting to the Production Manager, the Production Shift Leader (Continuous Improvement Leader/CIL) is responsible and accountable for all factory activities while on duty. The CIL works with the Management Team to ensure all activities are consistent with, and supportive of, the factory’s business plan. The CIL ensures all Associates are performing their job responsibilities and meeting expectations in all areas of their work.Duties

  • Supports efforts to maximise sales and profits and minimise controllable costs by effectively directing and supervising work shift activities.
  • Makes sound business decisions quickly to ensure that production requirements are achieved.
  • Effectively plans, organises and implements all daily operational routines and activities; completes all required administrative duties and daily paperwork.
  • Supervise and perform closing shift and/or opening duties, as directed by Production Management.
  • Supports the goals, decisions, and directives of the Company.
  • Complies with and models all company policies, procedures, and guidelines; enforces all in a fair and consistent manner.
  • Consistently provides a quality product and customer service experience that delivers total customer satisfaction.
  • Effectively monitors all aspects of the factory’s operation to anticipate problems; takes initiative to correct problem areas immediately.
  • Consistently enforces and maintains through positive management techniques all to company standards.
  • Monitors and maintains proper staffing level and labour costs to meet production requirements.
  • Observes Associates attitudes; takes appropriate steps to create a positive working atmospher
  • Suggests to Management and where appropriate implements ways to improve methods of operation
  • Knowledge and SkillsThe ideal candidate will already be working within an automotive and/or textile related industry and ideally have experience in a similar role.
  • Self-motivated with knowledge of automotive/textile markets.
  • Strong IT skills including MS Office.
  • Good organisational skills.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Integrated team player with a strong sense of ownership and commitment.
  • Analytical with good problem-solving skills and an understanding of statistical process control.
  • Excellent health and safety practices and knowledge
  • Ability to communicate at all levels
  • Understanding of Operational Excellence and Continuous Improvement techniques.
  • Knowledge of SAP would be advantageous
  • Technical understanding of textiles from yarn preparation to fabric finishing with a knowledge of fabric formation would be advantageous.

  • Hours of work: Shift work - 4 on/4 off, 2 days/2 nights
