CK Science are recruiting for an experienced GCMS Analyst to join a chemical manufacturing company at their site based in Greater Manchester on a full time, permanent basis.The Company:Our client is a family run business which has been in business for over 50 years. Specialists in flavours and fragrances, the company distributes across the UK and around the world. The company offers a salary in the region of £22-26,000 for the GCMS Analyst role which will depend on experience, as well as 25 days holiday plus bank holidays, pension scheme, healthcare and more. Location:This GCMS Chemist role is located in Greater Manchester which is easily commutable from Lancashire and the surrounding areas.The Role:Your main duties as a GCMS Analyst will be:·Preparation, analysis, interpretation and quantification of fragrances from various products such as perfumes, soaps, candles and fragrance oils using GC with MS and FID detectors.·Preparation of samples may require solvent extraction techniques such as SPME arrow. ·Responsibility for instrumentation, general and advance maintenance and performance and trend monitoring of the instruments carried out. ·Using GCMS to identify different substances in a test sample.·Analysing samples and be able to perform maintenance and trouble shooting ·Preparation of samples for analysis on GCMS-FID·Analysis of samples using GCMS-FID using relevant software and instrumentation.·Interpretation and quantification of fragrances using relevant software on PC.·To provide an analysis report for the fragrance of be made in the lab·To keep up date on new fragrance ingredients/components within the market and to add these to library accordingly.·Ability to recognise problems and take corrective action.·To continuously undertake method development to help improve runtime and quality of analysis from the instrumentation.Your Background:The ideal candidate for this Analytical GCMS Chemist role will have the following skills and experience:·Proven industry experience as a GCMS Analyst for a sufficient period of time - essential·Experience of working within the flavours and fragrance industry - essential ·Experience within leadership - desirable ·Chemistry or related science degree or equivalent ·Desirable to have experience using Mass Hunter software·Good communicator ·Excellent attention to detail and be able to prioritise work to specified deadlinesPlease note that your CV should show exact dates of employment (month and year) and any gaps of a month or more should be explained.CK Group is an Equal Opportunities employer and welcomes applications from all who meet our selection criteria.If you do not hear back from us within 5 working days of your application for this role, it means that on this occasion you have not been shortlisted for the next stage of the recruitment campaign.
