Job Description

As Financial Controller you will have overall responsibility for ensuring high quality financial, legal and operational standards with a focus on identifying and supporting the development of business cases to enable the business to grow and be financiallysustainable.MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIESJob Purpose:

  • To be a senior leader within the business and a member of the Senior Leadership Team.
  • Be responsible for the finances of the business and monitoring financial performance on a regular and timely basis
  • To develop and deliver business case development supporting own service area as well as wider within the business
  • Promote improvement, innovation and high standards in all services to benefit patients and their families and friends.
  • By supporting the overall achievement of the strategic aims and objectives set for the business by the Trustees, working in partnership with other members of the Senior Leadership Team.
  • By promoting the purpose and core values of the Hospice and acting to promote public trust in the organisation
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:Managerial Responsibilities
  • Work in close collaboration with the Chief Executive and Senior Managers to develop strategy, business plans and policies for the Hospice which supports the provision of the highest standards of care for patients and carers.
  • Promote and support partnership working internally and externally to benefit staff, volunteers and the wider community.
Finance
  • Lead the businesss financial function
  • Be the Company Secretary, assuming all relevant duties thereof including (but not limited to) preparing draft documents for audit, filing annual and other relevant information with the Charities Commission and Companies House where appropriate and supportingthe Audit & Regulatory Compliance Committee.
  • Work with Quality and Compliance lead to develop an annual quality report.
