Job Description

Electrical Fitter / Wire Person - Manufacturing and Engineering - Bury - Up to £30,000.About the CompanyThis is your opportunity to join a business who are truly a world leader in their space. Manufacturing is at their heart and operate within the packaging industry.Our client is looking for a time served qualified Electrical Fitter / Wire Person to join their team in Greater Manchester. Reporting to the Production Manager you will assist the production team in building world class machinery with the opportunity to travel overseas to supervise the electrical installation.Electrical Fitter / Wire Person - The Rewards

  • Salary up to £30,000
  • Bonus
  • Pension
  • 25 Days Holidays
  • 39 Hours per week
  • Overtime Optional - rate 1.5 on Saturday, 2 on Sunday
  • Option to work abroad roughly 4 times per year
    • Electrical Fitter / Wire Person - Requirements
  • Apprenticeship in Electrical Engineering - must be time served qualified
  • BTEC ONC or equivalent
  • Proven experience of working in a Manufacturing / assembly environment
  • Computer literate in Microsoft applications
  • Experience of working to engineering drawings
  • Experience of using Electrical Engineering processes in assembly and fitting
  • Experience in working with machine controls, electrical drives and other mechanical and electrical systems
  • Have experience of working away from home overseas
  • Experience of lean production methods; PDCA / Cost down activities
  • Capital machinery experience
  • Paper / converting machinery experience
  • Process / vacuum system experience
  • Previous experience of working in a team
  • Demonstrates excellent communication skills, both verbally and written
  • Able to interface personably with customers - ambassadorial skills
  • Is reliable and has good time management capabilities
  • Can work to deadlines
  • Able to develop and maintain, mutually beneficial relationships with team members and colleagues
  • Demonstrates flexibility in order to address business needs
  • Demonstrates ability to work on different tasks
    • Electrical Fitter / Wire Person - Responsibilities
  • Adhere to all Health & Safety regulations, to ensure no possibility of endangering yourself or colleagues
  • Maintain and promote a safe and healthy working environment for all employees and visitors
  • Ensure that existing practices and systems are followed
  • Ensure production targets are met safely and efficiently within the working environment
  • Update the Electrical Charge hand regarding any issues with the immediate task at hand
  • Actively assist in continuous improvement and standardisation projects and processes
  • Acknowledge and promote the company’s responsibilities to the local environment as a whole
  • Focus on improving quality and reducing build hours through efficiency gains
  • Work cross functionally with design and technical teams, on build issues, to produce a superior product
  • Supervise or assist with company projects at customer sites in the UK or abroad
  • Assist with the introduction and induction of new starters to company procedures and ways of working
  • Actively engage in continuous improvement of yourself
