To be flexible with hours of work and work when the needs of the setting require which could be between 7.30am and 10.00pm, across a 7day week.
To work in all areas across the borough.
There is no requirement to be a car driver, however this would be beneficial.
Where employee has use of their own vehicle, they must posses the relevant business use insurance.
Satisfactory DBS disclosure at the enhanced level.
To work in accordance with the Care Quality Commission (CQC) regulations.
To use be able to use any equipment i.e. mobile phones or other devices needed to do your work.
To maintain a high standard of personal appearance and cleanliness including wearing, maintaining and safekeeping of uniforms
Be professional, polite and reasonable whilst conducting their role

Purpose and Objectives of Post:

The role will primarily be to support Home Care providers who are suffering staffing shortage or who require additional capacity to support customers with their care and support needs.
However, staff should also be willing, ready and able to support Residential Care Homes when the need arises.
Part of the role may be to work planned shifts as well as cover at short notice.
Someone who has the skills to provide support and care, in line with care and support plans and instructions from senior staff.

Duties of the role:

Providing person-centred care and support which is respectful.
Care and support that maintains individual choice and personal skills: to promote welling and independence.
Maintaining a safe, stimulating physical environment that meets the needs of the customers.
In accordance with the customer care plan and other information and /or under direction of senior staff to support customers to live well, eat well, be active and to stay safe and warm. For example, providing personal care and medication administration.

Responsibilities:

Work under instruction and direction to provide care, in accordance with best practice, legislative requirements, reflecting policies and procedures and agreed standards.
To make yourself aware of and react to any changes in customers needs or change to their service provision at the beginning of each visit.
To maintain clear and accurate records in accordance with the authoritys policies and procedures. This will be achieved through the appropriate use of mobile phones, tablets, laptops, computers, and electronic monitoring.
To assist customers with the use of aids and equipment in line with their care plans.
Ability to Communicate Clearly, report both verbally and in writing on service users general condition and well-being.
