An exciting opportunity has arisen for a 0.8WTE (4 days per week) Band 7 Cognitive Analytic (CAT) Therapist to work within Secondary Care at Humphrey House, Bury with Pennine Care NHS Foundation Trust. The post-holder will support the delivery of the Secondary Care Psychological Therapies Service within the community pathway. The team consists of a group of experienced Clinical Psychologists and Psychological Therapists, offering clinical psychology assessment, formulation and therapy and a range of psychological therapies including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Cognitive Analytic Therapy and other therapies where appropriate. Service users are usually under the care of the Community Mental Health Team, based on the same floor of Humphrey House and have complex mental health presentations.We are a research active service and the clinical lead/team manager has recently been awarded funding to lead a site as part of a national multi-centre clinical trial in psychosis DEC:IDES (DEcision-making Capacity: Intervention Development & Evaluation in Schizophrenia-spectrum disorder) at Pennine Care. DEC:IDES is funded by the Chief Scientist Office and aims to assess the feasibility of conducting an ‘Umbrella’ trial (i.e., multiple concurrent randomised controlled trials) of psychological interventions to improve treatment decision making capacity in people with psychosis. DEC:IDES is running in three UK sites; Lothian, Bury and Lancashire. We have also been awarded internal funding to take forward a smaller research project in schema therapy and are pursuing other research grant applications.Our office/clinic base is in the centre of Bury, with good transport links opposite Bury Tram/Metro (a 20 min journey from Manchester Victoria) and the bus station.The successful applicant will join a team of seven psychologists/therapists and an administrator. We regularly host trainee clinical psychologists from the three North West Doctoral Programmes and offer an undergraduate “industrial” placement.Job SummaryTo provide a qualified specialist CAT service for people referred to the secondary care community care pathway. Managing your own clinical caseload, the post holder will offer direct assessments, formulation and psychological interventions.Supported by colleagues, you will also contribute to the team’s multidisciplinary work within the CMHT, through consultation, training, supervision, and co-working. You will work closely with all MDT staff to support the development of individual care planning and promote psychological thinking, particularly within a CAT framework and contribute to the ongoing development of our service.The post holder will be accountable to the Principal Clinical Psychologist/ Service Manager.The post holder will receive clinical supervision from a suitably experienced Therapist.Key Requirements of the Person Specification: You must have completed an accredited CAT Training and be currently registered with ACAT (or working towards this), in addition to having a core professional training (e.g. Nursing, Social Work, Occupational Therapy).
