Job Description

We have a brand new opportunity at DS Smith Kettering for a Waste Coordinator to join us and play a crucial role in the development and improvement of our operation. The Waste Coordinator will be working closely with the General Manager and various teams on site, using continuous improvement techniques and detailed planning to drive down waste and reduce raw material usage.We need someone who is passionate about improving a business and can get colleagues engaged with new ideas and projects. If this sounds like you, please get in touch!What being a Waste Coordinator at DS Smith will involve:

  • You will be responsible for identifying opportunities on site, then recommending and implementing solutions where we can reduce and eliminate waste.
  • Developing, implementing and managing processes for collection, disposal, recording and publication of waste performance
  • Using Waste Data Capture to identify trends and inefficiencies
  • Ensuring that best practice is embedded for waste segregation and disposal
  • Driving the understanding and compliance around group waste best practices and SOPs
  • Building and maintaining strong working relationships with various teams on site to help educate and implement a culture based around waste reduction
  • What we would like our candidate to have:
  • Experience in Continuous Improvement/Operational Excellence
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Passion and enthusiasm for continuous improvement and waste minimisation
  • Ability to analyse multiple forms of data in order to identify opportunities
  • An engaging personality, crucial for interacting with stakeholders in all levels of the business
  • Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma
  • Ability to prioritise and manage workload efficiently
