Job Description

Job Role: Vehicle TechnicianLocation: KetteringStarting Salary: £27500Hours: Monday to Friday (Early Finish Friday)Pertemps in Kettering are recruiting on behalf of a market leading manufacturer based in Northamptonshire are looking for vehicle Technician to join their team.As Vehicle Technician, you will join a well-established team who are on hand to train you to progress and increase your earning potential.The right person with the right attitude is the most important aspect for this Vehicle Technician role. Due to expansion of the business the right individual needs to be able to install positivityin the team & to communicate new ideas and best practice acrossthe business in a highly regulated & complex assembly manufacturing environment.The Opportunity for this role of Vehicle Technician is truly a great one. You will have the chance to make an enormous difference to a business that is currently expanding massively right now. They are in the process of setting up sites across Europe, but theirUK operation is a lynch pinto their organisation.You will be offered a good salary, as well as good benefits and pension. This role is really about an experienced, positive and process driven person to come in and help the business meet their increasing order book in 2023.Duties of the role include:

  • Installation and fault finding on an array of pressurised hydraulic systems in line with Engineering Standard Operating Procedures
  • To act as an advocate for Quality, ensuring that the highest level of due diligence and care is taken on each vehicle
  • Installation and integration of boom to chassis wiring to ensure functionality is as per the customer specification and that units are built/ wired in line with engineering technical documentation and Body Builder guidelines
  • Mechanical installation of sub frames, outriggers, and ancillary equipment; this could include light fabrication, the use of power tools, and the correct application of torque settings on critical fasteners
  • To undergo training to adhere to existing work practices, methods, procedures, undertake relevant training and development activities and to respond positively to new and alternative systems
  • To maintain a high level of housekeeping and alignment to the Companys Health and Safety policies
Essential Skills:
  • Experienced in the use of power tools such as jigs, grinders, river guns
  • Ability to read and interpret hydraulic and electrical schematics
  • A high degree of aptitude with a willingness to get the job done
  • The successful applicant must work well as part of a team
  • Be able to work on own their initiative and have high attention to detail
  • Proven team player with critical thinking and problem-solving skills
