About the RoleDS Smith Packaging have an opportunity for a Health, Safety & Environmental Risk (HSER) Manager to join their team in Burscough. As the HSER Manager for Burscough you will support all levels of management to implement the necessary HSER activitiesand actions developing the HSER culture across the site whilst meeting legal requirements as a minimum.As part of your role you will manage and develop the Health, Safety and Environmental function of the site. You will ensure the right skills, processes, materials, information and procedures are in place to meet; legislative requirements, customers requirements,and the standards established by formal management systems (e.g. ISO 14001/ISO 50001/ISO 45001).You will have experience of working with all levels of stakeholders, with the ability to coach, advise and drive a safety improvement culture. You will have a strategic outlook, working closely with the site leadership to develop annual HSE Plans with monthlyobjectives and targets. As the successful candidate you will be the management representative for HSER management systems as well as the point of contact for external stakeholders such as regulators and insurers.As well as managing HSER for Burscough you will also have responsibility for contributing to the wider Central HSER team. You will use your experience to help define strategy, policies and processes across the business to help drive our HSER goals and agenda.What we would like our candidate to have:
