This globally recognised brand is seeking a Technical Officer for their expanding business.The role of the Technical Officer is directly Customer Facing, serving customers and supporting the Project Delivery Managers, project sites and other departments for technical & quality related issues for all project work. This position helps to ensure that the coating systems and procedures obtain approval for use on projects and with clients. Representation of the company at site and at client meetings to deal with, advise on and close out technical & quality issues is also a prominent role of this position.Position Responsibilities:- Client interaction on technical and quality issues.- Liaising with other departments and site providing technical / quality support.- Review of Client and 3rd party scope of work including suppliers, specifications.- Support to sales team for specification reviews, lab testing scopes etc..- Preparation of project technical and quality documentation and reports.- Planning and execution of Procedure Qualification Trials (PQTs) in conjunction with the relevant service delivery departments, with responsibility for documentation technical / quality items and client liaison.- Tracking execution and costing of 3rd party lab testing.- Technical representation of the company on project sites, when required.- Technical representation of the company at Clients Project Meetings.- Due to the nature of the Business it is anticipated that travel within the UK and abroad may be required.- Any other reasonable duties as required by your Line Manager.Education:- Science based academic qualifications to A-Level or B Tech standard- Appropriate Professional Qualifications (Level 2 Coating Inspector) (working towards achieving these if not already obtained).Work Experience:- Minimum 5 years relevant work experience - Experience of Engineering, Quality, Health & Safety and Environment process and systems. - Experience in an engineering / materials-based background. - Change management experience with regards to process and procedure. - Experience working with standard operating procedural documentation, ensuring it is in place, being followed and reviewed / updated accordinglySkills & Knowledge:- Good communicational skills, task orientated- Excellent time management and planning skills- Commercially aware- Good presentation and client facing skills- Excellent all-round IT skills- Strong problem-solving acumen- Good technical report writing skills with the ability to import visuals, photos and diagrams into reports- Good technical understanding of various coating materialsBenefits:- Competitive Salary- Company Pension- Life Insurance- Increasing Holidays with Service- Staff Discounts- Staff Events- Free Staff Car Parking
