Mechanical Design EngineerBude£25,000 to £35,000 DOE + Holidays + Bank Holidays + Pension + Benefits PackageMechanical Design Engineer required for a company who operate on a global scale who have considerable investment and plans for significant growth. The company are market leaders for innovation and are well renowned within their niche industry.They offer a varied role and an opportunity to get involved with a broad product portfolio as well as the opportunity to get involved at all stages of the product lifecycle.The role would suit, experienced Mechanical Design Engineers who have previously worked within a high volume manufacturing environment. The successful applicant will have experience of both 2D and 3D design, NPD and value engineering. You must be able to demonstrate the ability to liaise with members of the team and other internal departments as well as dealing with suppliers and both UK based and overseas manufacturers. Applicants who have experience with a range of engineering processes and working with a range of materials are encouraged to apply.The role will be within a fast paced design department, working on high value projects. You will be responsible for producing 2D and 3D designs using AutoCAD and SolidWorks. You will be tasked with creating BOMs, space/layout drawings/plans, manufacturing drawings and work alongside the NPD team for prototyping and to aid with innovation. You will liaise with customers, architects and senior site teams to ensure designs are fit for purpose and make adaptations where necessary. You will strive to maintain product quality but assess engineering processes and liaise with suppliers to increase profitability on projects where possible. This role will work closely with sales, operations and procurement teams internally.
