Job Description

SRUC is unique in Scotland and one of the largest organisations of its kind in Europe. Our ambitious and exciting vision is to work at local, national and international levels, leading innovation and sustainable development in agriculture and rural sectors.The Academic Administrator (VAO) will liaise closely with the Programme Team Lead and with the Veterinary Nursing (VN) QA Lead to ensure clear communication channels are maintained between SRUC and Veterinary training practices and the RCVS. The administratorwill co-ordinate QA site visits and compile and maintain all resulting reports and student training records; also co-ordinate validation visits by University of Glasgow as required by the RCVS.In addition, the post-holder will provide general administrative support for the BSc Veterinary Nursing degree and the L2 Diploma Veterinary Care assistant.Duties will include:

  • Developing and embedding clear, processes, communication pathways and guidelines with our external training practices and teaching team to meet RCVS/QA requirements of the programme
  • Communicating effectively regarding administrative issues with a wide range of audiences including management, colleagues, academic staff, students, prospective students and stakeholders
  • Working closely with all relevant teaching staff with a focus on providing effective administrative support for the BSc VN and VCA programmes
  • Working as part of the SRUC Aberdeen administration team may assist with general administrative duties as required, for example, front of house, class and examination timetabling, open days and other SRUC events
To be considered for this role you should possess demonstrable experience of working within a varied administrative role and competently carrying out a range of administrative duties and have proven experience of providing an effective service to customersand other internal and external stakeholders. Ideally you should have experience of administration in a college or university environment.Applicants should have a good standard of education.
