Job Description

Transport Manager Hull £35,000 to £40,000Grafton Recruitment are delighted to be partnering with one of Hulls leading Manufacturers in their search for a Transport Manager. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a business with an outstanding reputation in the city.Duties to include

  • Working closely with the Despatch Manager and Production teams to ensure that products are in the right place, at the right time across all sites
  • Manage total transport operations
  • Manage and oversee route planning operations
  • Work with senior management to implement cost saving and process improvement strategies
  • Manage deliveries in and out of the site
  • Full responsibility of recruitment and training of the transport team
  • Monitoring the progress of the daily operation, taking into account all the legal requirements and those of the customer, to achieve the most cost-effective route and utilisation of vehicles and staff
  • Ensure Health & Safety and legal requirements are being followed
  • Attend meetings with stakeholders as required by the business
  • Depot management including keeping on top of inventories
  • Investigating any service or operational failures to ensure they are understood and prevented in the future.
  • Working closely with the Fleet manager in relation to maintenance and associated administration of vehicles.
  • Heavily involved in driver compliance, infringements and legalities.
You will have
  • Excellent leadership skills and experience and a passion for motivation and inspiring staff to deliver best practice
  • Ability to identify and evaluate risks and development solutions
  • Proven experience working in a similar role
  • Transport Managers CPC - essential
  • Proven experience managing transport operations including compliance
  • Excellent communication and personnel management skills
  • Knowledge of manufacturing and distribution operations
  • Stakeholder management skills
  • A good understanding of computer and transport management systems
Transport Manager Position Remuneration
  • Salary DOE - £35k to £40k
  • Monday - Friday position
  • 23 days holiday including banks
