To support this growth they need to add a Senior Buyer to their team, its envisaged that this person will become Purchasing Manager within 3 years.The commodity Buyer will take accountability and responsibility for all products, commodities and vendors allocated to them. Working hours 7:30: am -5:45 pm Monday to Thursday or hours worked over Monday to Friday with WFH on the Friday, daily travel allowanceis paid.Keywords: Buyer/Purchasing/CIPS/Manufacturing/Procurement/negotiating/cost down/relationship building/CommoditiesPrimary duties:End-to-end management a portfolio of suppliers in a number of commodity categoriesDesign and Development department on product specifications and management of the tendering process of new product introduction.Lead the sourcing of new product in your specific commodity categories and manage the introduction of new suppliers from sampling through to pricing and contract negotiations and integration into the supply chain.Lead negotiations with suppliers on a short, medium and long term basis with the aim of yielding total acquisition cost savings without compromising on quality.Assist with negotiations on long term supplier partnership agreements.Identify value improvement opportunities and deliver target cost reductions.Use your solid commercial acumen to negotiate commercial and contractual terms with our suppliers.Create commodity strategies in line with business objectives.Monitor commodity trends and their impact on future pricing.Work closely with suppliers to build a relationship of continuous improvement to improve their performance in terms of quality, delivery and price competitiveness.What were looking for:At least 3 years experience of working within a procurement team/environment.A proactive approach and the ability to work under pressure and on their own initiative is a major requirement.Strong negotiator.Influential and persuasive.Knowledge of Kanban would be advantageous but not essential.Objective, open, honest individual with integrity and self-awareness.Passionate about learning and developing themselves professionally.Takes pride in the work they do and always strives to deliver over expectations.Excellent attention to detail with strong organisational, analytical skills and commercial acumen.What youll need:Computer literate with a proficiency in MS Office e.g. Outlook, Excel is essential.CIPS or a willingness to work towards this.Excellent organisational skills, such as time and project management and task prioritisation.Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build and maintain relationships.Excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to tailor your approach across all levels of seniority, both internally and externally.To have worked in a fast paced manufacturing environment.Knowledge and understanding of contemporary supply chain developments.Full and clean UK driving license.Keywords: Buyer/Purchasing/CIPS/Manufacturing/Procurement/negotiating/cost down/relationship building/CommoditiesIf this appeals to you then please Apply Now !
