Job Description

DC358Service & Maintenance Engineer [AC & Gas]LocationWest/East MidlandsSalary£Competitive + Overtime + BonusesOverview:First Military Recruitment is working partnership with our client to recruit two Qualified Service & Maintenance Air Conditioning and Gas Engineers. This will be a field-based role and prospective candidates can be based in/around either the East or West MidlandsArea (e.g. Birmingham, Wolverhampton, Coventry, Leicester, Northampton, Peterborough).The Engineer will achieve operational excellence by ensuring all planned preventative and reactive maintenance is carried out to the highest standard, to provide customers with fully functional HVAC systems in a manner that allows our client, a market leaderHVAC provider, to meet their objectives whilst retaining their spiritual trinity of business intent, customer connection, and employee experience.Duties and Responsibilities (extract):

  • Service and maintenance of Panasonic and Yanmar GHP units.
  • Service and maintenance of AHU systems.
  • Service and maintenance of split, VRV and VRF systems.
  • Service and maintenance of boiler systems.
  • Achieve customer satisfaction by identifying and diagnosing system faults first time.
  • Proactively warning of possible future failures that may affect customer facilities both verbally and in report format.
  • Completion of F-Gas and Gas Safe reports.
  • Learn to fully commission all aspects of HVAC systems.
  • Responding to call outs for break downs on critical system HVAC.
  • Travel to various sites nationally for PPM works.
  • Set Control Panels, AHUs, fans, and other mechanical plant to work.
  • Train clients/end users in use of the systems.
  • Completion of site service reports.
  • Completion of point of work risk assessments.
  • Troubleshooting during commissioningi.e. working out why a system is not working correctly and developing a solution.
  • Troubleshooting - attending site to diagnose faults and preparing report to advise findings.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement and innovation in your specialist area.
Skills and Experience (extract):
  • Commercial Refrigeration experience.
  • At least 3 years experience working in a specific trade within a similar role.
  • Previous experience in a service and maintenance position.
  • F-Gas Category 1.
  • Commercial Gas.
  • Technical competency demonstrated through NVQ/SVQ Level 2 and/or completion of relevant trade apprenticeship.
  • Setting up HVAC/Split AC systems.
  • VRV and VRF servicing and fault finding.
  • Split system servicing and fault finding.
  • AHU Burner/boiler system fault finding.
  • Knowledge of AHUs, Condensers, Internal AC Units (ducted, cassette, wall mount), Gas Burners, Gas Boilers, and Control Panels.
  • Leak testing of refrigerant systems.
  • Recovery and charging of refrigerant systems.
  • Brazing.
  • F-Gas and Gas Safe testing and sign off.
  • CSCS Skilled Worker or Supervisor card (or ECS card if electrically biased).
  • GCSE or equivalent in Maths and English.
  • Competent in using MS Office/Outlook.
  • Written skills to be able to prepare reports.
  • Clean driving licence.
