Job Description

IT Security AnalystA fantastic opportunity to join one of the UKs leading independent financial advisory and wealth management firms.We have an exciting opportunity to join our existing IT team. We are looking for those of you who wish to grow with us as a business in our Bromsgrove office. You will join us on a full–time permanent, and in return, you will receive a competitive salaryplus a range of benefits.Key Responsibilities as our IT Security Analyst will include:

  • Assist the Security Engineer, Data Protection Officer, Cyber Security Analyst, and IT Technical Team
  • Assist with day–to–day administration and monitoring of Information Security Systems
  • Monitor for attacks, intrusions, and unusual, unauthorised activity across infrastructure services.
  • Monitoring and analysing network, system and application logs and other data sources to detect potential security incidents in real–time.
  • Support Internal Dev and Ops teams on security related matters.
  • Assist in the creation, auditing and enforcement of Information Security Policies and Standards in line with business requirements.
  • Investigate security breaches and other security incidents and provide incident response. Collate security incident and event data to produce reports.
  • Support the Cyber Security Analyst in any Cyber related issues.
  • Remain up to date with new data and privacy legislation as well as emerging security technologies and understand/translate their risk relevance to the environment.
  • Be willing and able to work out of hours as and when required or requested by the business.
  • Support a culture of security initiatives and activities to support and improve Information Security Awareness across the organization.
  • Report on and develop Security Metrics
What we are looking for in our ideal IT Security Analyst:
  • Experience of working within the banking / financial sector and good understanding of regulatory requirements (GDPR) (Desirable)
  • Experience within security relating to Cloud (M365, Azure), Print, EUC, ITSM, Network & Infrastructure services.
  • Experience of Windows and Azure Servers and monitoring firewall activity
  • A strong understanding of cyber security principles, concepts, and industry best practices
  • Strong knowledge of security incident response methodologies and tools, allowing you to effectively investigate and mitigate security incidents.
  • CI/CD, Git, DevSecOps (desirable)
  • Knowledge of ISO 27001, NCSC Cyber Assessment Framework, Cyber Essentials Plus, OWASP
  • Cybersecurity and related technologies along with Anti–Malware, analytical & scanning tools experience
  • Work well under pressure, prioritise tasks to manage deadlines and be a self–motivated team player.
  • Excellent influencing, communication, attention to detail and stakeholder management skills (essential)
  • Ability to provide input to data and security requirements for complex IT and business operations (essential)
  • Has awareness of problem–solving procedures used for business–critical IT or data incidents (essential)
  • Network infrastructure design, firewalls, IDS/IPS, DNS/DHCP (essential)
  • Knowledge of network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, VPN and associated network protocols
  • Knowledge/experience in UK/EU Data Protection Regulations, PCI and ISO 27001 (desirable)
  • Strong knowledge of TCP/IP and network administration/protocols
  • CompTIA or any other recognised Information Security qualifications (CCNA security, CompTIA security+)
  • Office 365 Suite.
