Job Description

Highams are currently recruiting for a market leading software consultancy who create and sell insurance platforms to the Lloyds insurance market.They are in the market for a SQL BI Developer to design, code, verify, test, document, amend, refactor and implement software solutions meeting functional and non-functional requirements.This role places specific emphasis on SQL and reporting solutions. Job Duties:

  • Design, build and refactor SQL and reporting code against best practices and standards
  • Review and debug code
  • Implement unit tests
  • Implement system tests
  • Identify bottlenecks and bugs and devise solutions to resolve
  • Estimate the workload based on provided acceptance criteria
    • Experience Required:
  • Proven experience as an SQL Developer
  • Familiar with design and architectural patterns
  • Agile methodologies
  • Experienced in Source Code Management, Continuous Integration and Test Automation
  • Actively participate in work ceremonies, such as the Daily Stand-up
    • Technical Experience Required:
  • T-SQL
  • Microsoft Power BI or other Data Visualisation tools
  • Microsoft SSIS
  • Microsoft SSRS
  • Distributed source control systems (Git, Mercurial etc.)
  • SSAS (desirable)
  • Jira (desirable)
