Job Description

We are currently seeking technically minded candidates with good problem-solving ability to apply for our IT Technician vacancy. The duties of an IT Technician will include being a reference point for all IT related queries at the user level, respondingto user needs in a timely manner, and ensuring the optimal running of all systems, on and off boarding employees among other technical duties.The successful candidate would be expected to have at least 1 year prior experience and display good interpersonal skills as they will interact with colleagues from various departments and executive levels. They are required to listen to technical needs,understand problems, and implement solutions efficiently.Responsibilities

  • Installing and configuring hardware and software components to ensure usability.
  • Troubleshooting hardware and software issues.
  • Diagnosing and resolving technical issues
  • Providing desktop and server support
  • Ensuring security and upgrades are applied to desktops and laptops and kept up to date
  • On and off Boarding of users
  • Ensuring electrical safety standards are met.
  • Repairing or replacing damaged hardware.
  • Installing and upgrading anti-virus software to ensure security at the user level.
  • Performing tests and evaluations of new software and hardware.
  • Providing support to users and being the first point of contact for error reporting.
  • Establishing good relationships with all departments and colleagues.
  • Maintaining technical documentation.
  • Escalating IT issues to the IT manager where necessary
  • Ensuring patches and upgrades are applied to core servers
  • Ensuring Data security standards are upheld

Experience in the following would be highly advantageous
  • Windows 10
  • Microsoft Office 365 suite
  • Windows Server 2016 / 2019
  • Routers and Firewalls
  • IP configuration and troubleshooting
  • Maintaining DNS
