Job Description

Our client a sports centre with an onsite restaurant and bar, events space, lounge and pop up bars are looking to recruit an experienced Head of Food & Beverage to help with their Opening. They have been operating for less than 1 year and they are now ready to take the place to the next stage.The Head of Food and Beverage is responsible for the management of the delivery of an efficient and high-quality food and beverage service in a diverse.Head of Food and Beverage Duties Include:- They are required to manage, develop and motivate the food and beverage team, ensure an efficient, effective and welcoming experience for all customers and provide tactical direction for their reports.- The post-holder will have a focus on commercial viability by controlling costs and maximising income.- They will assist the CEO to maintain aspects of stock and cash control, control cost of sales and labour.- They will ensure high standards of service delivery, safety, hygiene, security and discipline, as well as compliance with legislative requirements and the Clubs code of practice.- Head of Food and Beverage will carry out on-the-job training demonstrating best practice.- Will play an active role in the day-to-day performance management of the team, set short term goals and objectives and train and develop the team operationally.Key accountabilities The following are the main accountabilities for the job:1. Oversee the day-to-day operation of all catering outlets across the stadium both on match days and non-match days including- 500-capacity brand bar & kitchen operating 7 days a week- 2 event spaces that have conferences, functions, parties and match day hospitality for sponsors and members- Outdoor bar open on match days and for special occasions- Concessions outlets open on match days- Players Lounge - feeding the first team players and coaching staff 5 days a week2. Maintain appropriate financial controls and meet budgetary constraints at the level set by the CEO/Chairman. 3. Manage a core full time team of department managers and chefs. Whilst also managing 50 casual staff members. Recruitment, payroll, rotas, right to work documentation, staffmeetings and training sessions.4. Liaise with departments to promote good working relationships and foster a high level of customer care. 5. Monitor Health and Safety and Licensing controls for the department and ensure legal requirements are adhered to at all times. 6. Have a daily focus on allergen information, ensuring they are accurately communicated to the team and customer.7. Menu planning alongside the Sous chef, being up to date and on trend whilst working on good margins and GP.8. Manage stock control, wastage and back of house EPOS till system, order pay app and menu screensEventsManage full time event coordinator. Smooth planning of events, finances, invoicing, journey of customer and delivery of event by operational event team.The Head of Food and Beverage should be able to demonstrate the following skills, experience, abilities and personal interests:Essential* Food Hygiene Certificate L3* Supervising bar and catering staff in a high-volume environment* Advanced Knowledge of EPOS and stock management systems* Excellent customer service skills and the ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in written form* Knowledge of basic HR working practices* Maths and English GCSE (or equivalent, grades C or above)* Experience of organising work specifications (rosters)* Conflict resolution and handling difficult situations* BII Licensee qualification* Health and Safety/Risk Assessment knowledge* Computing skills to include the ability to use MS Word, email and Excel* Firm commitment to achieving the Clubs vision and values, with a passion for a transformative customer experience and multidisciplinary, impactful research* Commitment to deliver and promote equality, diversity and inclusivity in the day-to-day work of the roleDesirable* Customer service qualification* Driver (full UK license)Salary is based on experience and might be negotiable for the right person.
