Job Description

Do you want to be a part of an innovative and supportive team, where there are great opportunities for career progression and developmentWe currently have an exciting role for an Electrical and Instrumentation Support Engineer to support the Electrical and Instrumentation Managers within Network E&I Integrity, in ensuring that key electrical, instrumentation, control systems and processesoperate effectively and safely.You will be working closely with colleagues across several key functions/departments across the business, including maintenance, projects and asset management. Additional you will be assisting with decarbonising the gas network by supporting biomethane andhydrogen projects.What will you be doing day to day

  • Ensure SGN’s Asset Management Policy is followed to meet our ISO55001 accreditation.
  • Implement strategies so instrumentation, control and electrical systems are managed and maintained to meet legislative and regulatory compliance.
  • Assist with project scoping and project hand over activities so business plans are carried out to programme and within budget.
  • Ensuring projects are carried out safely and in accordance with SGN policy and procedures.
  • Assist in the development of business plans and engineering solutions throughout the asset’s lifecycle.
What you’ll need
  • Experience, Knowledge and a Keen Interest in:
  • Electrical, Instrumentation, Control, Gas Quality, Metering and Telemetry systems.
  • Hazardous Area (DSEAR) and ATEX Directives.
  • Functional Safety (BS EN 61511), Emergency Shut Down Systems, Fire and Gas Monitoring.
  • HNC in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, HNC in Process Instrumentation and Control or equivalent apprenticeship and experience gained working in an electrical or instrumentation role.
  • We are looking for a performance oriented and self-motivated individual, able to control and prioritise as required budgets, resources and tasks. They must be able to balance conflicting priorities and challenging timescales and able to work with peopleat all levels.
  • A full driving licence and willing to travel within the UK on a regular basis working in both office and field environments is essential.
