The PHP Developer will join our technical team who are crucial in building our in-house platforms set up to manage not only own brand activities but the onboardingof additional acquisitions and sister brands into our portfolio. As a PHP Developer, youll sit at the heart of this team, crucial in implementing technical solutions that fulfil the commercial ambitions of the businessKey Responsibilities Create well crafted, scalable and resilient solutions used both by colleagues and the publicOwn the delivery of software into the businessParticipate in sprint planning to deliver regular iterations, and retrospectives to improve our processesPromote software development best practicesCollaborate with business stakeholders to clarify ambiguous requirements and taking corrective action for issues in productionPerform exploratory work to investigate new technologies that we can leverage to solve business problems, as well as sizing changes to our existing platformReviewing colleagues code submissions, coaching enhancements, encouraging standards and identifying bugsThis is a hybrid-based opportunity with true flexibility to work from home (minimum of 2 to 3 days a week in the office), so you should be within commutable distance of our office in Wirral, Mersyside.You: Youll live and breathe our digital-first ethos, with an agile and pro-active approach. Youll enjoy working collaboratively with the wider team and youll be committed to acting with integrity and honesty in everything you do.Skills and competencies At least two years experience of software engineering in a commercial settingExperience of PHP MVC frameworks such as Symfony, Laravel or CodeIgniterDemonstrable record of delivering high-quality object-oriented code and using SOLID principlesA strong grasp of MySQL with the ability to identify problematic or costly queriesExperience of React JS as well as other foundational front-end technologies e.g Vanilla Javascript/jQuery, HTML, CSSExperience of Agile development methodologies e.g. ScrumNice to have but not essential:Experience of using Test Driven Development in commercial projects.Front-end styling frameworks such as SASS & BootstrapLinux administrationAn understanding of micro-service architectures and containerisationIt is highly likely you will have worked in any of the following roles and/or markets, and worked with the following products and/or services: Agile, Back End Developer, Bootstrap, CSS, CodeIgniter, Front End Developer, Full Stack Developer, HTML, Javascript,Laravel, PHP Developer, PHP MVC, React,SASS, SQL, Symfony, Web Developer, jQuery, Experience with REST APIs and GraphQLUs: From boilers to bathrooms and everything in between, PlumbNation is the perfect one-stop online shop for all things plumbing and heating.
