Job Description

Room LeaderOur Client are looking to employ a Room Leader for their excellent Nursery based near Bromborough, Wirral. The Room Leader must be enthusiastic and driven in working under the direction of the settings Manager to provide a safe, high quality education andcare for young childrenKey Responsibilities

  • Planning, preparing and delivering quality teaching opportunities using the EYFS framework effectively, offering an appropriate level of support and stimulation within a safe and caring environment.
  • To act as a key person to a group of children, liaising closely with parents/carers maintaining strong partnerships and communication ensuring that the individual needs and interests of children in the setting are met (in conjunction with other team members).
  • Administration and record keeping, when the Manager or Deputy is not available.
  • To keep records of your key children’s development and learning journeys on Learning Book to share with parents, carers and other key adults in the child’s life.
  • To meet all aspects of the Early Years Foundation Stage and subsequently any legal documents referred to within the EYFS framework.
  • To be flexible within working practices of the setting, undertaking other responsible duties where needed, such as domestic tasks, preparation of snack meals, cleansing of equipment, etc ensuring that hygiene, health and safety standards are met, Monitoringand maintaining a healthy, safe and secure working environment at all times.
  • Lead, supervise and observe the allocated room within the Early Years setting on a daily basis, providing support and modelling good Early Years practice to staff.
  • To attend and be involved in staff meetings on a regular basis.
Essentials for this role:
  • Appropriate Level 3 qualification or above.
  • At least 2 year’s experience of working in a childcare setting
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of the Early Years Foundation stage
  • Ability to work as a team member and demonstrate leadership skills
