Job Description

Due to growth within our business we are looking for a BI Analyst to join our team. Working as part of the Analytics team to deliver in-depth analysis of client and operational insights to drive actions and decisions, along with supporting projects to deliver new reports and tools using a range of software including Dundas BI and the Microsoft tool set.The role and responsibilities of a BI Analyst:

  • Collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders and other colleagues to identify requirements, detect problems and deliver improvements through analysis, reports and data management across the business.
  • Contribute to complex business and technology projects, collaborating with other functional and technical analysts.
  • Capture and deliver reporting and analysis requirements to agreed timescales and quality standards, visualising data, identifying insights and trends and comparing with appropriate benchmark data as required.
  • Provide information, analysis, insights and recommendations.
  • Being a subject matter expert for business intelligence and operational data reporting.
  • Provide and maintain fit for purpose dashboards and reporting solutions via BI tools.
  • Develop testing and implementation strategy, conduct appropriate functional and performance testing to identify and resolve process bottlenecks and data quality issues.
  • Create and test the quality and accuracy of reporting outputs before they are released to internal and external audiences.
  • Support the cleansing of data, including mapping old-to-new and creating files for colleagues to script changes upon.
  • Administer end user access to dashboards via BI solution including row level security.
  • Promote the use of sophisticated data analysis and visualisation techniques.
  • Identify areas for improvement to ensure our BI remains current and supports business growth.
  • Skills and experience required to be a successful BI Analyst:
  • BA/BS degree in Computer Science or an equivalent combination of education, training and progressive experience.
  • Clear experience of BI reporting, dashboard building and data reporting.
  • Experience in working with large and complex data sets, using a variety of tools such as SQL coding, analytical tools and a range of BI solutions; experience of SSIS an advantage.
  • Experience of R or Python an advantage.
  • Experience of JavaScript an advantage.
  • Excellent in analytical thinking for translating data into informative visuals and reports.
  • Independent thinker and creative problem solver with a good eye for detail.
