Job Description

Job title: Key WorkerLocation: Broadstairs, KentSalary: Up to £28,729 per yearRef: AA/CT/10877/2Take a central role in supporting a young persons ongoing development at this Outstanding-rated school!This leading Broadstairs residential school is an acclaimed provider of specialist education and pastoral support for young people who are autistic and have associated learning disabilities, and is now looking for a Key Worker to advocate for and support a young person during their stay within the schools on-site residential provisions.The school is committed to providing comprehensive teaching in both academics and life skills that puts the child as an individual first, to treating each community member with gentleness and respect, to reducing the use of restrictive practices, and toenabling each pupil to reach their full potential.As a Key Worker, you will act as a mentor and role model for up to 2 young people, consistently supporting and improving each childs personal environment and making of connections to foster a sense of stability and safety. You will directly ensure the healthand wellbeing of your charge and help enable their ongoing learning and personal development, including in their academics, social relationships, and independent living skills.This is a permanent role, with the following contracts available:

  • Full-time, term-time only (41 weeks)
  • Full-time, year-round (52 weeks)
Person specification:You will ideally have at least 2 years experience in working with children or adults with complex needs.You must be willing to complete a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare and Level 2 in Medication Handling (if you have not already done so).Benefits:
