Transport Planner/AdministratorOur client in South Bristol is looking for a full time Transport Planner/Administrator to join their busy team on a permanent basis.Hours are Monday - Friday 08.00 - 5.30 with a salary of £25,000 per annum on offer + great benefits + free on-site parking.The purpose of the role is to plan the delivery and collection of assets to best meet the requirements of customers and the companyKey duties:- Act as an ambassador and ensure compliance with all legislative requirements and all internal quality, health, safety and environmental policies and standards- Plan tours and schedule drivers using Transport Planning tools to maximise efficiency, control costs and meet agreed SLA/KPIs- Manage external haulage levels to ensure that customer demand, collections and haulage recovery costs are balanced, daily & weekly reporting- Monitor daily activity and take corrective action in order to meet customer expectations while liaising with other departments,- Call customers when deliveries / collections are late or need to be re-scheduled- Execute plans, taking account of customer and environmental changes throughout the day using planning and monitoring tools including, but not specifically limited to, Microlise, LVis, Transport App, MS Excel etc- Actively manage performance and standards of drivers (internal/external) using system data, number of moves/vehicle, manage machines in collection, filing run sheets- Coordinate all vehicle maintenance activities in conjunction with the regional transport manager- Engage in continuous improvement and problem-solving exercises to develop a best practice approach for the entire UKThe ideal person:- Previous experience in transport admin or planning is advantageous, however, we are happy to consider experienced administrators or customer service advisors with competent IT skills, who are keen to move in to a fast paced, transport environment- Excellent communication skills and be able to communicate at all levels- Ability to build effective working relationships across departments is a fundamental requirement- Numerate and excellent PC skills including MS Excel- Commercial awareness- Experienced in powered lifting and /or road haulage preferred- A valid UK driving licence is desired but not essential.Please click apply and submit your CV or call and speak to Lucy or Sophie for further information.
