Job Description

You will assist the transport team in operating the Bristol site - You will help drive a culture of safety, compliance and positive engagement whilst being proactive in other areas.Client DetailsA well established leading 3PL providing warehousing, distribution, with extensive expertise in relation to dutiable goods across the UK.DescriptionThe Transport FLM based in Bristol will have the following responsibilities:

  • Effective planning of driver and vehicle resource to achieve delivery/collection times, creating and updating daily run summary
  • Liaise with the shunting operation covering pre loading & unloading operation
  • Ensuring that service levels are achieved and maintained, in conjunction with other departments
  • Optimisation of resource and adherence of WTD and drivers hours legislation
  • Using the Driver Rota, plan drivers according to shift pattern and available hours, taking into account holidays and sickness
  • Equipment control through sign in/sign out procedure
  • To ensure legal compliance regarding any defects, services, MOTs etc
  • Carry out disciplinary hearings, return to work meetings, substance misuse procedure etc in order to maintain standards and ensure that employees work at an appropriate level.
  • Ensure any risk assessments at depot are organised and carried out accordingly.
  • Ensure all accidents/incidents/near miss are logged and reported in line with company procedures
  • Maintain clear and effective communication with drivers, communicating accurate start times, load information, directions, additional shifts.
ProfileThe successful candidate will have the following requirements:
  • Understanding of tachograph/ driving rules and regulations
  • Previous experience in managing/supervising a team
  • Good planning and organising skills.
  • Good IT skills including Microsoft office packages.
  • Have knowledge of Road Transport Directive and current drivers hours
  • Significant transport experience in FMCG environment would be an advantage
Job OfferExcellent package paying up to £35,000 working a 4on4 off on the night shifts. Excellent opportunities to progress through the warehouse or into other roles within the business.
