Job Description

Five Education are working with mainstream primary schools based in South Gloucestershire are we are looking for Learning Support Assistants to work on a supply basis. We do require LSAs with previous SEND experience such as supporting children with Autism or Downs Syndrome.This role will start in January 2021.Responsibilities and duties:

  • Working with the class teacher to help engage children as much as possible.
  • Working with the class teacher on differentiation and helping the children to access the curriculum
  • Assisting with the planning of learning activities
  • Working with small groups or in a 1:1 setting
  • Providing feedback to pupils about progress and achievement under the guidance of the teacher
  • Providing a positive role model for young people
    • Essential Criteria:
  • At least 12 months of recent experience supporting children
  • A flexible and resourceful approach
  • You will be able to demonstrate positive reinforcement
  • Confident and able to build relationships with the pupils
  • Experience working with children with SEND would be an advantage
  • Have a right to work in the UK (A Valid Visa)
  • Two recent child based references and relevant DBS/ Police checks
  • Access to bicycle, car or near main bus routes.
  • Able to work 8.30-3.30, 3 - 5 days per week term time only.

Successful applicants will be required to undergo checks including a barred list check, reference checks and will need to have a DBS; there will also be a face to face interview.
