Job Description

Five Education is looking for a TA with experience supporting children with additional needs such as autism and ADHD to work with a school in the Shirehampton area. Candidates will be working 1:1 and with small groups supporting children through their learning, help them to regulate their emotions and de-escalate any challenging behaviour that they exhibit. They will need to be resilient and keep a positive attitude throughout the day. Formal training in positive intervention strategies are desirable but not essential.This job is due to start in March.Responsibilities include:

  • Supporting children with their school work
  • Helping children regulate their emotions
  • De-escalate any challenging behaviour exhibited by the children under your care
  • Work with staff to help inform and implement learning and behaviour strategies
  • Keep to the childrens routines making sure to let them know of any changes with as much notice as possible
  • Requirements:
  • 1 year of recent experience working with children
  • 6 months of recent experience working with children with additional needs
  • Knowledge of Autism-friendly approaches
  • Strong communication skills
  • You will be able to demonstrate positive reinforcement
  • Strong behaviour management skills
  • Have a right to work in the UK (A Valid Visa)
  • Two recent child based references and relevant DBS/Police checks
