Software Engineers (Junior, Mid or Senior) Bristol Hybrid £30,000 - £70,000 Learn about Machine Learning, new technologies, R&D, drones and robotics We have worked with this brilliant bunch for the last 3 years and watched and help them grow from 15 to 50 people with the aim to support them to 100 heads by the end of the year. They are a self-funded FAST growing company, with big plans, ones I sometimes cant keep up with! They apply scientific and engineering methods to create high performance and user centred experienced. They have been very successful since opening in 2016, mainly because they are much more responsive, commercially competitive, and much more fast paced than other companies in a similar space, always ensuring their end client is getting value for their money.Its chilled, everyone loves tech, everyone there is hands on and they live and breathe their values. They particularly pride themselves on reinforcement learning/machine learning and see themselves as one of the best, if not the best, in the country in their particular niche. With plans to double if not triple in the next 12 months we are helping them growntheir R&D department who are working on some pretty cool things around creating Machine Learning/AI powered products. Youll join a diverse team of multi-disciplinary engineers who have different specialisms in machine learning, software, DevOps, systems, electronics, RF and hardware prototyping. Youll contribute to a hands-on engineering culture, sharing knowledge and lessonswith the wider engineering team, and learn some new things yourself along the way. The team are open to applications from Juniors all the way through to Senior developers. Where you will be working in all parts of the software development lifecycle (from software requirements, architecture, design, development, and software testing). They arent looking for someone who just wants to work with Java for the rest of their lifes, were looking for folk who are passionate about technology and who activelyinvests in their technical skills and abilities. You will be constantly learning and developingin this role, but some key skills and experience you should already have include Good experience of software development in an agile environment (including agile management, version control, issue tracking, code review and continuous integration methods and tools) Experience creating clean, maintainable, low complexity, self-describing code Proficiency in modern development toolsets An understanding of software security principles and implementation Knowledge of industry-wide technology trends and best practicesSome of the technologies they use currently include: Android (Kotlin, Java) WPF (C#/.NET) Python C++ Messaging middleware (DDS, MQTT, etc.) Azure/AWS/GCP Git Prior experience in any of these is a bonus, if not, you should be comfortable with learning and using these and more in the course of your work.
