Job Description

Role:The role holder is responsible for the sales of the clients active and passive optical product range across EMEA. This will require dedicated focus to new business and working alongside the accounts team across existing/dormant house accounts. Core task areas will be to maintain effective cadence with decision makers, identify new contacts missing from the DM loop, close out deals swiftly as possible and troubleshoot commercial, logistic and technical queries that may arise.Job FunctionNew business development inside existing account and fresh business from cold prospects across the EMEA region.You will generate business opportunities and sales predominantly, but not exclusively, for optical network equipment and used product range which includes optical transceivers, equipment, fibre accessories and used hardware.Success measurement will be judged upon the quality and quantity of new business opportunities. Main traits that enhance the success of this role is the ability to hunt and sell with energy, open mindedness, enthusiasm, and urgency. Any new companies identified by he/she will be kept by the individual with the view of building a stable of long term relationships and delivering repeatable business.Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities:

  • Open new opportunities inside fresh accounts
  • Building DM contacts, hunting down new opportunities within existing accounts
  • Activity measurement largely based on outbound calls (pre-set and cool/warm)
  • Provide comprehensive CRM and database tools to aid prospecting to compliment the new business strategy
  • Maintain regular phone or F2F contact with existing accounts ensuring that our knowledge of the needs, expectations, challenges and requirements are up to date and well communicated
  • Generate sales among client accounts, including upselling and cross-selling
  • Fully understand the business, buying and decision-making process of the customers as well as developing effective relationships with key contacts in the accounts to ensure ongoing sales.
  • Maintain and develop a relationship with DMs within customer base to gain trust and transparency for ongoing and future opportunities
  • Ensure a high level of Customer Service, resolving and where applicable escalating an issues/complaints to ensure a high level of service. This may include Interface with other internal departments
  • Provide a professional handover of accounts as necessary on a timely basis
  • To achieve set monthly targets in line with company expectations as determined by the company.
  • Be responsible for identifying, developing and closing sales through sustained prospecting and activity
  • Provide accurate detailed monthly and quarterly forecasts and ensure information on CRM is tidy and up to date
  • Operate within published commercial and contractual guidelines, making effective use of escalation route
  • Understand and sell the whole product portfolio, including hardware platforms/Optics and new customer solutions as appropriate to customer needs
  • Maintain a high awareness and knowledge of the market, including industry, competitors and telecoms and internal activities to ensure that all business opportunities are identified, considered and implemented appropriately
