After all, support is in our name.Job descriptionAre you a Quality Assurance Engineer interested in joining the driving force behind the Royal Navy, Army & Royal Air Force, ensuring they have the correct equipment and support We are looking for Senior Quality Assurance Engineers to join our expert LandEngineering division here at DE&S.You will be providing specialist Quality Assurance (QA) support to our weapons and land equipment systems across a range of programmes at various stages of maturity. This will involve engaging with a wide variety of stakeholders, including liaising withthe Defence Quality Assurance Field Force and Industry Partners. Quality Assurance Engineers are at the heart of ensuring the creation and safe operation of successful new platforms and systems.We offer solid progressive training and development to enhance your skill sets and aid career progression. You will have unrivalled opportunities to be involved in some of the most interesting and complex engineering projects being undertaken in the UK today,whilst working with cutting edge technology.Depending on your skillset, you will be aligned to one of our following operations teams:

  • Weapons - Munitions and weapon systems ranging from small calibre bullets and bombs through to complex missile systems.
  • Land Equipment - Armoured fighting vehicles, self-propelled howitzers, and multi launch rocket systems through to hand guns, wearable armour and ordnance disposal robotics.
Please note, there may be the opportunity for both domestic and international travel.Responsibilities
  • Provide advice, guidance, and support to Delivery Teams on the implementation of quality policy and assuring compliance Manage quality across the contractual boundary, including determining appropriate quality criteria for contracts and assessing supplier deliverables Identify and manage quality related risks, including product related risk, facilitating investigations of equipment faults Conduct product inspections and ensure that they meet the technical specifications
Person specificationTo be successful with your application, youll need to show that you meet the following essential criteria:
  • You will hold a relevant HNC (i.e., Level 4 or higher) qualification in a relevant discipline, or have the equivalent experience
  • Applied knowledge of quality assurance within the acquisition and supply chain environment, supported by expertise in multiple quality specialist areas including Configuration Management
  • Knowledge of technical specifications and ability to read and interpret technical drawings
In addition to the responsibilities above, the following technical competences and behaviours will be assessed at interview:
  • Acquisition Assurance (Practitioner)
  • Technical Risk Management (Practitioner)
