Job Description

Are you a Quality Engineering expert interested in supporting our Armed Forces whilst having the opportunity to explore a hands-on approach with the UKs most advanced equipment If so, the Land Equipment Operating Centre (LEOC) here at DE&S are activelylooking for a Senior Quality Assurance Engineer to join their Vehicle Support team.The Vehicle Support team is responsible for providing in-service support, including equipment on current deployments. This equipment covers a wide variety of wheeled and armoured vehicles ranging from a quad bike to a Challenger 2 Tank, here, you will beworking dynamically whilst expanding your portfolio.Quality Assurance Engineers are at the heart of ensuring the creation and safe operation of successful new platforms and systems. You willhave unrivalled opportunities to be involved in some of the most interesting and complex engineering projects being undertaken in the UK today.Depending on your skill set, this post may fall under the wider LEOC supporting one of their other expert teams.Please note that regular attendance to other UK sites may be required.ResponsibilitiesIn this role, you will have the opportunity to: Provide advice, guidance, and support to Delivery Teams on the implementation of quality policy and assuring compliance Manage quality across the contractual boundary, including determining appropriate quality criteria for contracts and assessing supplier deliverables Identify and manage quality related risks, including product related risk, facilitating investigations of equipment faults Conduct product inspections and ensure that they meet the technical specificationsPerson specificationTo be successful with your application, youll need to show that you meet the following essential criteria:

  • You will hold a relevant HNC (i.e., Level 4 or higher) qualification in a relevant discipline, hold Chartered Quality Institute (CQI), Chartered Quality Professional Membership (CQP MCQI) or Quality Practitioner (PCQI), or have the equivalent quality assuranceexperience
  • Applied knowledge of quality assurance within the acquisition and supply chain environment, supported by expertise in multiple quality specialist areas including Configuration Management
  • Knowledge of technical specifications and ability to read and interpret technical drawings
