You can view our YouTube video to see more about our workJob descriptionThe ChallengeProvide effective management, motivation, co-ordination and development of project teams delivering a portfolio of quality infrastructure projects. LocationBristol, BS34 8JH DIO MP3 hub is based at Andover delivering projects across the South of England.ResponsibilitiesMain Responsibilities• Provide the Intelligent Client interface in the management of industry partners, selected through procurement mechanisms to deliver a range of infrastructure projects on behalf of DIO in line with MOD processes, procedures and contractual terms and conditions. • Proactive Contract Management and maintaining a productive working relationship with industry partners and suppliers whilst monitoring their performance to quality, time, cost and reliability. Driving optimal delivery and managing emerging issues promptly to avoid delays or cost escalation. • Managing financial performance of projects and controlling expenditure against approved project budgets providing accurate financial reporting and forecasting and ensuring that costs within the approvals process are robust and that Contracts are managed to deliver value for money for Defence. • Undertaking project assurance reviews across the portfolio at key stages to evaluate progress, compliance and delivery certainty to provide confidence to customers and key stakeholders supporting customers to manage and maintain project approvals. • The Senior Project Manager is responsible to the Assistant Head Major Programmes and Projects (MPP) for the delivery of assigned Capital Infrastructure projects and for working with colleagues as part of an integrated team to develop a working environment and ways of working that achieve a High Performing Team ethos. • The Senior Project Manager will be accountable for ensuring adherence and conformity to DIO processes and operating procedures. • A successful candidate will be able to demonstrate experience of managing and delivering construction-based infrastructure projects against a range of project management functional competences. • There will be a requirement for travel to support the DIO project programme and dependant on the location of the post there may be a requirement to work regularly from alternative locations which following assessment may be determined as Dual Workplaces under HMRC guidelines. Desirable Experience & Skills• Qualification - A recognised construction qualification is not required but would be desirable: (NVQ Level 5, HNC/HND or higher in a Construction, Infrastructure or engineering related discipline). • Membership - Membership of professional body or institution (e.g. RIBA, RICS, ICE, CIBSE, IMechE, CIOB, APMP/APM(PMQ)). • Licence - Full driving licence.BehavioursWell assess you against these behaviours during the selection process:
