Job Description

Were working with a next generation SaaS scale-up based in Bristol whove cornered the market of a niche business domain. They create innovative digital user experiences for their clients (400+ and growing) and are looking for a Senior Manual QA to join theirteam.This is a hybrid role so candidates must be willing to work on site in Bristol 2-3 days per week.What youll be doingReporting to the Engineering Director and working alongside a development team of 12, youll play an integral role ensuring all products and applications are thoroughly tested before their release.Youll be involved in all testing activities, including the design and execution of test plans, test cases and test scripts, working closely with developers and collaborating with the design and product teams to provide valuable feedback to improve the qualityof their product suite.The business is looking to improve their manual testing processes and strategy before introducing an automation function down the line, so youll have the opportunity to have influence over how things are done, making your mark on a growing business. Youllwork closely with the mid weight tester, supporting their development by advising on best practice and acting as a mentor. As the team continues to grow, youll be given the opportunity to take on a Lead role and/or progress down the Automation route if thatappeals to you.What skills youll need to apply
  • Demonstrable experience testing web -based applications in a commercial environment.
  • Deep knowledge of manual software testing methodologies, tools, and processes.
  • Well versed in Agile methodologies and practices (Scrum, Kanban etc).
  • Prior experience mentoring more junior QAs on testing best practice.
  • Ability to liaise with highly technical stakeholders and understand technical detail.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Previous experience implementing a manual testing function would be an advantage.
  • Any knowledge of DevOps processes would be an advantage but not essential.
  • Knowledge of Jira would be helpful but not essential.
