Agile Working OptionsOther Agile Working Arrangements / Open to Discussion Job descriptionJOB TITLE:Senior Manager, Group Finance RiskSALARY: £78,634 to £108,310 (dependent on location)LOCATION(S): Bristol, Edinburgh, Halifax, LondonHOURS: Full-timeWORKING PATTERN: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week, or 40% of our time, at one of our office sites.About this opportunityThis role is key as we continue to strengthen our Risk Assurance expertise and capability, in particular around our approach to SOX (Sarbanes- Oxley) compliance process.The Group Finance Risk (GFR) team oversee the application of the Group Risk Management Framework across Finance, and are responsible for providing Assurance for its Financial Reporting processes.The role provides a perfect opportunity to use your expertise and natural desire for change as we refresh our approach to assurance, to place a greater emphasis on preventative, business controls and use of technology.Responding to internal and external change is key. This will position us well to influence the (Group Strategic) Finance Transformation programme, and internal control developments in the UK Corporate Governance Code in the future.As a Senior Manager in the Group Finance Risk team, you’ll:

  • Provide expert guidance on the implementation of our newly refreshed SOX methodology; identifying and recommending further areas of improvement as we embed changes in our approach
  • Ensure our SOX scope is regularly refreshed to reflect business and regulatory change, and industry best practice.
  • Collaborate across the risk and controls assurance landscape, in relation to both internal and external change
  • Develop a team with strong technical knowledge, capable of challenging and consulting on risks and controls, and end to end understanding of the control environment - through training, consultation, providing expert guidance and advice
  • Help drive forward our agenda of improved use of technology and tools in the SOX landscape
  • Work collaboratively with our external and internal auditors and across the Finance function

  • Professional qualification in related field (audit, risk management, accounting) with in-depth specialist risk capabilities, professional knowledge and financial competence
  • Specialist knowledge of SOX and its application in relation to financial services, within a changing environment
  • Very strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills to work with people at all levels
  • A track record of delivering influential insight, challenge and advice whilst building collaborative relationships across the Group through excellent stakeholder management
