Therefore, this is a rare opportunity to get into the business as its still growing and help to propel it to the next level.They are the current leader in their field and the Tech Director is now looking to offload some of his workload to a new person to enable him to focus on more of the strategic elements of his role.They are looking for someone who would be excited to own and operate their platform and to steer them on a path to being a truly global solution.That will require an understanding of scalable systems and of good software architecture. Theyre looking for programming skills too though - an appreciation for beautiful code, happy to operate as the gatekeeper for quality.RESPONSIBILITIES- Owning the hardware platform, guiding on strategy- Gatekeeper for code quality/process, ownership of automated testing and code pipelines. Theyre hot on quality and code elegance.- PHP/JS development work too.SYSTEMS SKILLS REQUIREDAWS - Cloudformation, Cloudwatch logging, monitoring, alertingAWS Elastic Beanstalk/EC2, networking, load balancing, scaling etc.AWS CodeBuild/Code PipelinesLinuxDEVELOPMENT SKILLSProcess: Git (GitFlow), branching, mergingPHPJavascript / JQueryReactJS + ReduxMysql: stored procedures, transaction handling, scalingAutomated Testing : PhpUnit, CodeCeption, Jest, etc.Build scripts: Gulp, Webpack etc.THE ROLEThe applicant needs to be comfortable working from home. The platform is global and runs 24/7. It is also reliable so whilst you may be called upon out of hours, or require you to react to alarms etc, its the exception, not the norm. Youll be ensuring it stays reliable!
