It helps them to create a diverse and inclusive workplace.Please be aware that due to the urgency of this role, the client is ideally looking for candidates with valid security clearance (SC).About the role of a Senior Commercial Officer;As a Senior Commercial Officer, you will be providing Commercial Services to meet the needs of the Programme. You will deal with Ministry Of Defence (MoD) contracts, contract management and winning new business, taking responsibility for the associated contractual and commercial elements.You will work collaboratively with key functions of the programme including Project Management, cost estimating, finance, procurement, engineering and technical as well as interfacing into UK Government (MoD) customers.Main responsibilities of a Senior Commercial Officer: Managing allocated commercial contracts.Executing bids up to the value of £5MManaging and resolving customer queries and issues in areas of responsibility, escalating significant problems as appropriate.Developing and maintaining customer relationships both internally and externally.Delivering commercial support and guidance to other functionsManaging the implementation of procedures and controls within the specified area to ensure compliance with commercial policiesManaging the Bid Approval process for commercial elementsProposing and reviewing complex terms and conditions to ensure that Business interests are protectedProviding advice and guidance to Supply Chain team to ensure appropriate flow-down of head contract terms and conditionsDrafting detailed Agreements including Purchase Orders, Enabling Agreements, Technical Assistance Agreements, Contracts, Sub-Contracts, amendments and Service Level Agreements.Understanding the financial and pricing requirements of commercial contractsAbility to plan and undertake basic negotiationsProactively identify, manage and mitigate commercial risk.Your skills and qualifications as a Senior Commercial OfficerEssential skills for the role of Senior Commercial Officer:Ability to communicate and present to all levels of the business and customer environmentGood and broad professional knowledge of commercial principles and practicesBusiness acumen to demonstrate an understanding of the balance of risk and reward in managing long term complex programmesProven ability to negotiate, prepare and issue sound business contractsExperience of Team Working in a Commercial / Contracts departmentDesirable skillsKnowledge of MOD contracting practicesAwareness of Single Source Contract Regulations (SSCR) and AAR CriteriaKnowledge of ITAR and export controlsIf the role of Senior Commercial Officer sounds right for you, please make an application and a member of the Team will be in contact immediately.
