Clinical Fellow in Paediatric Nephrology University Hospitals Bristol NHS Foundation Trust seeks applicants for 1 full-time Clinical Fellow posts (at ST4-8 level or equivalent) based in the paediatric nephrology at Bristol Royal Hospital for Children. This post is due to start from January 2020 and will be for 6 month duration in first instance.The posts contributes to the out of hour’s hospital at night rotas for Paediatric Sub-Specialty Medicine (1 in 9)This post would also be suitable for post CCT applicants.This job will support an excellent comprehensive tertiary paediatric nephrology service.Nephrology Team:Through our teaching programme and supervised clinical activity you should gain confidence in management of common paediatric nephrology conditions such as acute kidney injury, nephrotic syndrome and principles of fluid and electrolyte management. You will also gain an understanding of complex children’s renal conditions, dialysis and transplantation.With consultant support and supervision, you will take responsibility for inpatient management, regional liaison and regional renal advice. No specialist prior renal knowledge is expected. There are always opportunities to participate in research or quality improvement projects in this internationally renowned department for research.Post Details:This post is not a recognized and Deanery approved training post but the post holder will participate in exactly the same timetable and training opportunities as training post holders.You will take part in the medical sub-specialties on call rota (1 in 9) where you will work alongside 2 other registrar level doctors at all times to cover all the medical inpatients in the hospital.
