Senior Actuarial AssistantLocation: Bristol/ London/ FlexibleSalary: £Competitive based on experience + study packageRole Purpose:Providinga broad range of actuarial and DB pension consultancy services to pension scheme trustees, scheme sponsors and other third parties.Responsibilities include reviewing data, preparing, and reviewing calculations, valuations, and project managing. You will also work with scheme actuaries and consultants to assist in the account management of clients.Key Accountabilities:· Liaising with Investment Management colleagues, Consultancy colleagues, and other stakeholders· Assisting in client management and governance work on several client accounts· Reviewing data preparation work carried out by junior colleagues, and investigating and resolving abnormalities as appropriate· Carrying out and reviewing technical calculations relating to individual members of pension schemes, e.g., early/late retirement quotations, trivial commutations, transfer values· Carrying out and reviewing technical calculations relating to pension schemes for review by the signing actuary or other senior colleagues, e.g., actuarial valuations, preparation of accounting disclosures under FRS102, IAS19 and USGAAP· Assisting with development of junior colleagues· Contributing to discussions at internal meetings on current actuarial topics of relevance Technical Knowledge and Professional QualificationsThe person/ key skills:· Motivated to complete the actuarial exams/ ideally over half way thorough· Proven track recordin undertaking actuarial valuations, accounting disclosures under FRS102, IAS19 and USGAAP and other actuarial work· Highly numerate and literate· Ability to readily absorb technical information· Strong team-working and communication skills.
