Job Description

0.6 Teacher of ASD and SLCN for Specialist Centre to cover Maternity Leave from March 1st for a year or the current post holder’s return if earlier.SalaryM1-6 1 SEN PointAn opportunity to join a dedicated and passionate Staff Team in one of the largest secondary schools in Bristol.The Specialist Centre caters for up to 45 students with an EHCP for ASD/SLCN. They are situated on a mainstream site to be able to access mainstream lessons where applicable, but have their own classrooms and space, where the majority of the students are educated in classes with a teacher and at least one Teaching Assistant. Their students’ academic abilities currently range from low level to higher level GCSE. They deliver the National Curriculum, differentiated to the students’ needs and support their sensory and physical needs. They also have a hydro pool and a range of OT equipment to support the students’ development and can therefore support alternative therapies.The students are supported by a highly qualified and committed team of experienced teachers and teaching assistants, who work closely with parent/carers, ensuring high quality learning outcomes for all. They are currently seeking to appoint an exceptional ASD and SLCN teacher to join this talented team, who will have a demonstrable ability to nurture and support these students. The successful candidate will ideally be able to teach Food Technology and will have a passion for ensuring every child achieves their personal best.We want to hear from you if you are interested in joining their team at this very exciting time as this academy embarks on the next phase of its journey.
