Job Description

Risk Data Manager BristolUp to £60,000A successful bank is looking for an Operational Risk Manager focusing on Data Management. The bank is investing in a 2nd Line Operational Risk Manager to assess, validate, review and challenge Risk Controls pertaining to Data Management.THE ROLE

  • Ensure the bank is adequately considering and preparing for operational risks involved with data management practice
  • Be accountable for identifying, challenging, escalating, and reporting risks within your area of responsibility, specifically data management
  • Liaise with the 1LOD to propose risk appetite and impact tolerances
  • Monitor and challenge Key Risk and Resilience Indicators
  • Advise the 1LOD on the development of good Risk Management practices within the data management space
  • Get under the skin of what the bank is doing to manage data and provide insights and recommendations on where the gaps are and what they can do to improve things
  • Face off with various senior stakeholders including Chief Data Officer
    • YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
  • Experience delivering or managing data within an organisation (ideally within retail banking or FS)
  • Strong understanding of technical challenges and risks involved with data management
  • Knowledge of what good data management looks like
  • Ability to measure the quality and standard of data within an organisation
  • Excellent at facing off to senior stakeholders
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal to clearly articulate issues to senior management.
