Job Description

The role of a Records Clerk is to maintain the records database relating to patents, and trademarks. Liaising with clients, foreign attorneys, offices, and fee earners daily.If you are interested in providing administrative support to a high performing legal firm, please apply!Client DetailsOur client is an Intellectual Property Law specialist in Bristol. With business booming and a growing team, this is an excellent time to join a professional and hardworking team!DescriptionAs a Records Clerk, here is what your day-to-day duties will be to:· Process Rule word count· Generate Estimate for Fee Earner· Report client· Download and Enter Granted Patent Details form B1 Publication· Reported Granted Patent to Client· Handle take-ons· Handling applications· Sending agent validation instructions· Invoicing client· Reporting validation certificates to client· Support to Records inbox· Handling urgent diary actions· Handling weekly diary actionsThe initial role of a Records clerk is to learn each task shown thoroughly and gradually take on more complex tasks. The Records Clerk is also expected to help other members of the team when necessary.ProfileThe successful candidate ideally has:

  • Ideally a good understanding of Intellectual Property Law (Studied at university or exposure from employment)
  • Have good organisational skills
  • Be a confident individual and a real team player
  • Be adaptable to their approach to work
  • A strong admin background, ideally in a regulated industry where there are strict processes and guidelines to follow
  • Sound knowledge of Word, Excel, Lotus Notes and Adobe an advantage
