Job Description

The role of a Records Clerk is to maintain the records database relating to patents, and trademarks. Liaising with clients, foreign attorneys, IP offices, and fee earners daily.If you have good knowledge of Intellectual Property- from a law degree or previous employment and are interested in providing administrative support to a high performing legal firm, please apply!Client DetailsOur client is an Intellectual Property Law specialist in Bristol. With business booming and a growing team, this is an excellent time to join a professional and hardworking team!DescriptionAs a Records Clerk, here is what your day-to-day duties will be to:

  • Report the filing of International patent applications (PCT and Nationals) and GB National Filings
  • Reports the filing of foreign trade mark/patents & designs
  • Report foreign trade mark/patent & design grants
  • Process FAO RECORDS
  • Courtesy Reminders
  • Filer Checks
  • Recordal Stage 1 and Stage 2
  • Download and report Grant Certificates to clients
  • Reports New EP Regional Phase Filings
  • Foreign Filing Publications
  • Download and report Grant Certificates to clients
  • Report new EP Regional Phase Filings
  • Support very difficult/urgent validation cases
  • Reporting WIPO Publications
  • Support to Foreign Filing Role on WIPO forms
  • Handle Opposition check sheets
  • Handle Renewals check sheets
  • Support records via email
  • Report new foreign filings for Patents
  • Report granted foreign filings for Patents
  • ProfileThe successful candidate must:
  • Have a good understanding of Intellectual Property Law (Studied at university or exposure from employment)
  • Have good organisational skills
  • Be a confident individual and a real team player
  • Be flexible and adaptable to their approach to work
  • The successful candidate ideally has:
  • Experience of working in an office environment an advantage
  • Sound knowledge of Word, Excel, Lotus Notes and Adobe an advantage
