Job Description

We have an excellent opportunity for a permanent press brake operator for a steel-composite panel company based in Avonmouth!Will be required to work across both sites Avonmouth and NewportSalary: competitive salary negotiable based on experienceShift time: 7am - 3:30pm Monday to Thursday and 2:30pm finish on FridaysDuties/Responsibilities:

  1. Operates a press brake to manufacture tools, equipment, and other components from sheet metal or metal plates.
  2. Prepares, sets up, and adjusts press brake as required by product plans and production schedules.
  3. Ensures that there are sufficient raw materials available.
  4. Measures and aligns materials to be used.
  5. Inspects products, evaluating finished pieces for compliance with quality standards and specifications.
  6. Performs routine maintenance on the press brake.
  7. Maintains a clean work area.
  8. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
  1. Ability to safely and effectively operate or learn to operate press brake controls.
  2. Ability to follow instructions.
  3. Ability to read, interpret, and follow product plans.
  4. Basic computer and math skills.
Physical Requirements:
  1. Physically able to operate the press brake.
  2. Prolonged periods of standing, pushing, pulling, lifting, and carrying materials.
