Job Description

CAREER DEVELOPMENT PATH: Service Delivery REPORTING INTO: Operations ManagerSUMMARY:The Stockfile is a dataset which underpins our investment offering. The Stockfile team are responsible for the maintenance, audit and upkeep of this data .The team act as gatekeepers for the financial instruments that we offer to our clients, by performing complex and product specific due diligence checks, to ensure that all financial instruments that HL offer, are suitable for the retail market.The team are the owners of the market data that is displayed on our website, responsible for the maintenance and oversight of the feeds as well as the relationships with the third party companies that provide them.Companies such as, CREST, FundsLibrary, Morningstar and many other market counterparties. As part of the team, you will be responsible for ensuring the operation of daily business critical controls that ensure all investment related data on our platform is as accurate as possible. This will consist of complex data audits to ensure our current investment offering is compliant and retail appropriate.The role is fast paced, you will need to be dynamic and able to respond quickly to incoming information & queries on our investments and develop your understanding to a level where you can independently assess the requirements and execute the required actions in a timely manner. Events, like trading restrictions, delistings and suspensions require prompt responses to ensure we provide the best possible service for our clients.You will be allocated to a project that will span and affect teams across the business, and will be expected to provide regular updates to management whilst independently managing your own workload. This will frequently involve liaising with third party vendors, you will need to be confident in building and maintaining professional relationships and have strong problem solving skills to ensure that the solutions built result in the best possible outcomes for our colleagues and our clients.ROLE ACCOUNTABILITIES* Perform due diligence checks on a wide range of financial instruments, to ensure compliance with MiFIDII regulation and our product governance rules.* To create data entries in the Stockfile to enable new instruments to be traded / held on the platform.* To perform complex data audits on our stock file to identify and manage risks to the business and to our clients.* To monitor vendor performance, maintain professional relationships and represent the company at service review meetings.EXPERIENCE / SKILLS

  • A levels at Grade C and higher (or equivalent) OR a relevant level of appropriate work experience.
  • CISI Introduction to Securities and Investments or other comparable investment exams.
  • Highly computer literate.
  • A sound understanding of the workings of stock markets and financial regulations such as PRIIPs, MiFID II.
  • An understanding of HMRC regulation such as Stamp Duty and PTM.
  • Good Microsoft Office knowledge.
  • Confident in the application of the more complex elements of Excel.
  • Previous working experience in financial services. Primarily around market structures, investments and trading styles.
  • Experience of working in a control-focused environment.
  • Excellent time management, attention to detail and accuracy under pressure.
  • The ability to manage individual workload to a very high standard.
  • Working independently and prioritising workload to meet tight deadlines.
  • The ability to create efficient processes from scratch with full documentation and effective controls.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organisation skills with ability to handle multiple ongoing projects.
  • Dealing with third parties at a highly technical level.
  • Capable and confident telephone manner.
